Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic – Manufacturing role overseeing the operation and maintenance of food-manufacturing production equipment on a 12-hour night shift. Responsibilities include operating, maintaining, and cleaning production equipment; following GMP, safety, and food-safety standards; conducting equipment changeovers and sanitation; performing preventative maintenance and work orders; troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and pneumatic components (conveyors, bearings, motors, gearboxes, air cylinders, hoses, pumps, valves, etc.); using drawings and manuals for maintenance actions; coaching teammates on technical skills and defect resolution; participating in training and qualification programs; driving continuous improvement actions to root cause and implementing corrective/preventive actions; maintaining documentation (SOPs, PM improvements, etc.); using computers for record-keeping and training; and leading safety/quality/project initiatives within a designated area. Education/experience requirements include a HS diploma or equivalent (required), associates/technical training (preferred), and 3–5 years of mechanical/maintenance experience in manufacturing (required). Shift: 12-hour night shifts (5:45pm–6:15am) with a $40.36/hr base plus $3/hr night-shift adder. The role requires lifting, exposure to flour/yeast/oils, and physical demands consistent with a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associates, technical degree, or training (preferred)
- 3-5 years of mechanical or maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting (required)
- Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting English documents (e.g., safety rules and instructions)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Critical thinking for problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Collaborative and team-oriented work approach
- Ability to perform job functions safely, with or without reasonable accommodation
