Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mobile and heavy equipment including haul trucks, wheel loaders, skid steers, dozers, and motor graders. Execute work orders for engine systems, brake rebuilds, hydraulic repairs, and major component overhauls using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments. Document history in SAP, input quality notifications, and populate preventative work orders based on equipment hours. Physically inspect all equipment at least once per shift to detect mechanical problems and ensure safety compliance. Adhere to company and governmental safety rules, enforce safety policies, and participate in Behavior Based Safety and SQF initiatives. Maintain a safe and clean work environment while supporting Environmental Health and Safety and regulatory compliance. Work within fast-paced manufacturing conditions involving extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, and dust.
Required Qualifications
- Diesel mechanic background

- basic reading and math skills
- ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals

- strong record of attendance reliability
- ability to work any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in fast paced manufacturing environment including mechanical experience with diesel engines, and heavy equipment
- Must be physically able to perform work assigned
- Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations
- Ability to consistently lift over 75 pounds as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Technical training or AA degree in technical related field
- Previous maintenance experience
- Five (5) plus years of experience
