Job Summary

Maintenance Mechanic responsible for a variety of semi-skilled and skilled structural, plumbing, and electrical building maintenance tasks across authority properties, including repair and replacement of windows, doors, roofs, gutters, cabinets, walls, ceilings, toilets, faucets, water lines, and electrical fixtures, with preventive maintenance and potential specialization in trades; requires operating hand and power tools, welding/brazing, and assistance in HVAC/heating equipment maintenance, in a physically demanding environment, and compliance with HUD housing standards and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least two years of experience in repair and maintenance of buildings, plumbing, and/or mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Satisfactory completion of a vocational/technical course in electrical or mechanical repair or related field may substitute for one year
  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions in English
