Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic IV partners with Operations to maintain, repair, and optimize a wide range of rotating and fixed process equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, valves, vessels, piping) to support safe, reliable plant operations. The role diagnostically troubleshoots equipment using analytical methods, interprets blueprints/P&IDs and specifications, performs precision maintenance with dial indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges, and laser alignment, and coordinates with owners and production teams to support planned outages and continuous-improvement initiatives. Requires ability to respond to off-shift calls, work overtime, and uphold safety and ISO 9001 quality standards; prior experience with oxy-acetylene, TIG, and stick welding and pipefitting is beneficial. The position emphasizes root-cause problem solving, data-driven decision making, and collaboration across Operations, Reliability, and Engineering to improve equipment reliability and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or High School diploma (or equivalent)
- Work Keys Assessment: Locating Information and Applied Technology (4 or higher)
- Millwright/Mechanical experience in a chemical plant or industrial facility preferred
- Experience maintaining rotating and fixed equipment in an industrial setting preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance work processes and best practices
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, mechanical drawings
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and alignment equipment
- Ability to work overtime, call-ins, and varying schedules
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment and follow ISO 9001 requirements preferred
- Basic computer skills (MS Windows, MS Office)
