Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic III at ChristianaCare in Wilmington, DE, responsible for safe, compliant operation and repair of hospital facility mechanical systems and infrastructure. Performs preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pneumatic tubes, beds, wheelchairs), building maintenance tasks (tiles, fixtures, signs), uses CMMS to document work, responds to emergencies (power failures, fire alarms, elevator entrapments, water events), audits contractors and permits, performs light welding and metal work, and adheres to safety procedures while coordinating with tradespersons as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Five years practical mechanical experience
- Hospital experience preferred
- Knowledge of CMMS
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems
- Ability to operate hand and power tools and electrical test equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
- Ability to respond to emergencies and safety procedures
