Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic III at Macy’s conducts preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment including conveyors and sorters, performs diagnostic troubleshooting to identify malfunctions, disassembles and rebuilds components, and tests operation after repairs. Uses hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical skills; maintains and lubricates tools and equipment; performs basic electrical tasks; adheres to safety practices; may install or recharge batteries for battery-powered equipment; leverages a computerized maintenance management system to document usage and parts. Welding knowledge (ARC, MIG, OXY/ACETYLENE, PLASMA) and the ability to read maintenance instructions and safety rules are required. The role supports a distribution/warehouse environment with flexible scheduling and a focus on reliability and safety. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years direct experience in commercial or industrial maintenance
