Maintenance Mechanic III

Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of bakery equipment, buildings, and grounds while making necessary adjustments during production to ensure high output and product quality. Conduct regular inspections of equipment, structures, and grounds, communicating potential safety issues to the supervisor immediately. Execute daily and shift assignments efficiently, documenting activities through shift reports, and maintain a safe, clean work environment with properly stored tools and parts. Requires lifting up to 75lbs and moving objects up to 100lbs; irregular hours and periodic overtime are required. Extensive knowledge of electrical, refrigeration, PLC programming, and mechanical systems is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs, pushing, pulling and moving objects weighing up to 100lbs plus using carts or dollies
- Repetitive motion bending, reaching, stooping, squatting and sitting
- Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders
- Extensive knowledge of 3 or more of the following skills: electrical, refrigeration, programming of programmable logistic controllers (PLC) and mechanical
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- training in the New Bakery safety programs and their implementation
- Allen Bradley programming (PLC)
- 3 or more years of related general maintenance/repair work supplemented by training obtained through seminars, correspondence courses and New Bakery sponsored programs
- an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Irregular hours or periodic overtime required
- Occasional exposure to extreme weather situations
- Must be able to work in an area that contains dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, cold, noise levels higher than normal and heights
