Job Summary
Respond to work orders for electrical, plumbing, heating, and appliance repairs while executing preventive maintenance in mechanical and boiler rooms. Prepare vacant apartments for new residents and perform unit inspections with Resident Service Teams to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain inventory systems for equipment and tools, conduct pest control inspections, and handle snow and ice removals. Report accidents or safety concerns immediately and complete incident reports. Available for evening, weekend, and holiday emergency coverage, rotating as building mechanic across 2Life properties.
Required Qualifications
- at least five years of hands-on experience
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools safely
- Ability to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in winter conditions
- Must be available to respond when assigned to evening, weekend, and holiday emergency coverage
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary technical training
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- elevators and high rise building systems
- Hoisting License
- High comfort level with older adults ranging in age from approximately 62 to 102 years of age
