Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic I–IV in the City of Greeley’s Wastewater Treatment division performs preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on process equipment and plant infrastructure. Responsibilities include inspecting tanks and assets, operating pumps, motors, compressors, generators, screens, mixers, grinders, and blowers; working around electrical switchgear and chemicals; entering confined spaces as needed; daily rounds of treated water storage tanks; calibrating pH and chlorine analyzers; monitoring and adjusting flows and chlorine dosages; maintaining storage tanks per Storage Tank Rule; creating and adjusting SOPs; ordering and tracking Sodium hypochlorite; and potentially leading in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor for Level IV. Requires SCADA experience, familiarity with construction prints and GIS mapping, ability to read O&M and electrical drawings, and strong safety and teamwork skills. Occasional local travel and on-call rotation are required; applicants must be able to work weekends/holidays and in various weather conditions. Drugs and pre-employment screenings are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license
- Basic mechanical and electrical skills
- Familiarity with electrical safety techniques, electrical diagrams and multimeters
- Must participate in rotating on-call schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to respond on-site within 45 minutes for after-hours emergencies
- Must pass drug screen and pre-employment physical
