Job Summary

Perform preventive maintenance on physical structures, machines, oil separators, and mop water containers while adhering to manufacturer procedures and safety policies. Assist with diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling facility equipment, lubricating machinery, changing parts, and executing routine repairs using work orders. Conduct housekeeping duties including 5S procedures, clearing spills, surveying oil containment yards, and using a forklift to move equipment and waste containers. Remove recyclable metals and deliver oil to operations departments as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or general construction trades
  • Minimum of 1 year of related manufacturing experience and/or training
  • basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills
  • PLC experience
  • Ability to learn to read, interpret manufacturers drawings, blueprints and written instructions
  • Familiarity with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
  • no facial hair a NIOSH Approved Beard
  • pass an annual respirator fit test

  • ability to learn Word Processing software
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • a working knowledge of safety standards related to machinery operation use (including lock out / tag out) and machine guarding

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to understand bearings, mechanical power transmission, chain drives, belt drives, gear drives, couplings, mechanical fasteners, packing and seals, pumps, conveyors, pipe fittings and valves
  • Ability to use a variety of machine shop equipment, including hand and power tools
  • Ability to understand welding principles
  • Forklift operation- safety and handling
  • Oil and Filtration. Types and safety
  • Metal scraping and waste disposal. Types and safety
  • Electrical – basic knowledge to lock and tag out equipment for repair
