Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic I performs routine repairs on packaging, processing, mobile equipment, and plant structures. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing plant machinery and structures; diagnosing failures; inspecting and testing equipment with electrical/electronic test equipment; performing preventative maintenance; following specifications and lockout/tagout procedures; using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and testing instruments; performing plumbing, pipe fitting, welding, brazing, and related work; documenting repairs and inventory; maintaining shop and plant area safety; and performing other duties as assigned. Requires HS Diploma or equivalent, 2 years technical degree or related experience preferred, CMMS proficiency, pneumatics/hydraulics knowledge, reading schematics/blueprints, and welding qualification. Pay rate $29.60/hour. Location: Mounds, IL and Maryland remote-in-person options; in-person work schedule 3pm-11pm.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years technical degree in a related field or electrical/mechanical experience preferred
- Must effectively use CMMS
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on SOPs
- Must have a working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
- Must be able to perform basic machining tasks such as boring sprockets using a milling machine
- Must have basic programmable logic controller’s skills
- Must be able to read and understand shop manuals, parts, diagrams, schematic drawings, and blueprints
- Must have knowledge and ability to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic, etc.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform the following maintenance skills: Electrical tasks such as changing motors
- Sufficient math skills to calculate installation and adjustment of machinery
- Ability to operate heavy equipment
- Must be a qualified welder
- Demonstrated ability to perform detail-oriented work
- Good oral and written communication skills
