Job Summary

Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical issues for conveyors, filling equipment, and packaging machines using soldering tools, drills, and measuring devices. Perform preventative maintenance including lubrication, specialized cleaning, and part replacement on an appropriate schedule for each machine. Assist with facility maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, and cleaning to keep operations running safely and efficiently. Read work orders and schematic drawings while operating a forklift and wearing required respirators. Maintain a constant juggling of priorities to ensure rapid response times and facility safety.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of on-the-job mechanical experience
  • knowledge in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • capability to rebuild motor drive systems
  • replace/rebuild a gear box
  • understanding conveying systems
  • understanding bearings
  • understanding drives
  • A complete high school education whether it be a High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of on-the-job electrical experience
  • reading and troubleshooting electrical schematics
  • ability to work on circuits ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC
  • troubleshooting inputs and outputs on a PLC circuit
  • understanding of relay logic circuits
  • Understanding of, and capability of using, all Maintenance Shop tools (Hammer, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Drill Press, Hydraulic Press, Brench Grind, etc.)
  • Some knowledge of PLC systems
