Job Summary
Execute mechanical maintenance and construction activities, including repair of manufacturing machines, scheduled preventive maintenance, and unscheduled breakdowns. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, recommend corrective repairs, and perform arc welding, gas welding, cutting, and brazing using appropriate tools. Operate powered industrial vehicles to move parts and assist in new construction and facility remodeling. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures and PPE requirements, while maintaining 5S housekeeping standards and reporting violations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1-2 years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills
- Experience and previous training in Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
- Knowledge of forklift operation and rig heavy equipment
- Familiar with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
- Ability to read, interpret manufacturing drawings, blueprints and written instructions
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of basic shop math
- Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to handle and contain problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Ability to wear personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear PPE in specified areas
- Ability to respect and ensure respect for the instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety and the environment
- Ability to immediately correct, whenever possible, or report to his or her superiors and/or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection
- Ability to implement preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks
- Ability to participate, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his/her professional scope
- Ability to be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his/her work
- Ability to be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives
- Ability to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact
Desired Qualifications
- Certification and or formal training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
