Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, operational functions, and repairs on assigned manufacturing equipment and systems while adhering to safety practices and Standard Operating Procedures. Execute emergency and unscheduled repairs during production, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in a sterile environment, and perform general building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, and welding. Document all work in compliance with cGMP standards, detect faulty operations, and apply blueprints and schematics to repair machinery. Provide coverage for other mechanics, contribute process improvement ideas, and maintain aseptic gowning certification. Requires 3+ years of experience, ability to work overtime and weekends, and proficiency in English and technical math.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma/GED
- Minimum of 3 years maintenance mechanic experience in a regulated, technical work environment
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematics at a level to be able to complete technical work
- Ability to apply various principles and practices in a variety of skilled-trade areas (e.g., plumbing, PLC, controls, robotic, boilers, HVAC system, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, welding, etc.)
- Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods for repairs as required
- Basic computer skills and overall technology aptitude (able to work with MS Office and SAP)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. as required
- Ability to achieve aseptic gowning certification
- Working knowledge of GMPs, lock out/ tag out (LOTO), and arc flash
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
- The successful candidate must be able to effectively speak, read, write, and understand English to perform the essential functions of the position
