Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic II at Ellwood Crankshaft Group is responsible for testing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining machine tools, including CNC controls, PLC hardware and software. Candidates must have strong mechanical and electrical capabilities, manufacturing experience, and a thorough understanding of safety and environmental practices. The role requires the ability to perform adjustments, alignments, and calibrations, ensure preventative maintenance schedules, and assist with various projects. A two-year technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical Technology and familiarity with hydraulic systems are necessary. The position involves a mix of physically demanding tasks and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics
- Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
- Must be results oriented with a strong desire to succeed
- Two-year technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical Technology
- Familiar with manufacturing processes and machining equipment
- Experience with PLC Controls (Siemens SIMOTION, Siemens Step 7, Allen Bradley Studio 5000)
Desired Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical abilities
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Basic knowledge in AC and DC motor drive controls
- Experience with PLC controls
- Machine tool experience including upgrades and installations
- Experience with gas combustion systems
