Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician Hybrid responsible for safely operating and maintaining mobile mining equipment, performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems, and supporting both mine operations and maintenance. Responsibilities include pre-operational inspections, servicing and repairing mobile equipment (hydraulic excavators, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, water trucks), completing maintenance work orders, using diagnostic software and electrical schematics, participating in safety and risk assessments, and contributing to predictive maintenance programs. Requires reading equipment service manuals, OEM documentation, a valid driver's license, ability to pass MSHA Part 48 training and pre-employment checks, and readiness to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Education: high school diploma or GED (technical college preferred); minimum 2 years of experience with heavy diesel-powered equipment. Location: Nashwauk, MN; on-site work with no remote option. Salary: $38-$50 per hour (annualized to $79,040-$104,000 depending on experience). Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) with company match, PTO, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; technical college diploma or certificate in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy diesel-powered mobile equipment (mining, construction, or industrial)
- Valid driver's license; ability to operate equipment
- Ability to pass MSHA Part 48 new miner training, pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
