Job Summary

Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on electrical drives, controls, pneumatic instrumentation, and mechanical systems. Diagnose problems by observing devices, listening for issues, and using precision measuring instruments to adjust functional parts and replace defective components. Complete work orders, log detailed information into the maintenance management system, and maintain equipment inventories by checking stock levels and expediting orders. Train apprentice technicians, ensure safe work practices are followed, and report unsafe conditions to site management. Control downtime by informing production workers of routine maintenance techniques and prepare maintenance reports by analyzing trends.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 5 years of industrial experience
  • demonstrated comprehension, written, and verbal communication skills to read and follow detailed production specifications
  • Skills in the areas of pneumatic, hydraulic and drive systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC drives, PLC's and industrial controls
  • Allen Bradley controls
  • Could regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
  • occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to maintain upright and/or standing position for majority of a 12-hour shift
  • Often walks while performing job duties
  • Often carries, pushes or pulls up to 35 lbs
  • Must be able to bend, climb and use both hands to perform job duties
  • Operate hoist
  • Possess ability for rapid mental/muscular coordination simultaneously required for machine operation
  • Ability to maintain 3 points of contact for climbing stairs, ladders, and mounting/dismounting powered industrial trucks
  • Near/far/depth perception visual requirements required for machinery with moving parts

Desired Qualifications

  • Two-year Technical degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical sciences
  • 1-3 years of industrial experience
  • Industrial experience preferred
  • Experience with Allen Bradley controls preferred
