Job Summary
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will troubleshoot and repair plant or mine equipment and machinery, perform preventative maintenance, and utilize various tools for equipment repairs. This role requires active participation in safety meetings and adherence to safety procedures including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) protocols. Candidates must have 4 years of relevant mechanical experience or equivalent apprenticeship training, with a preference for vocational training in related fields. Physical demands include lifting 25-50 lbs. unassisted, working at heights, and operating mobile equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Associates Degree (Vocational, Millwright, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Machinist or Welding) training program preferred
- Job Resume is a must
- 4 years of related industrial mechanical experience or completion of an accredited Apprenticeship program required
- May be required to obtain a commercial drivers’ license
- Successful completion of pre-hire exams and ongoing training, which may include written tests and hands-on mechanical assessments.
Desired Qualifications
- Phosphate industry experience preferred
- Basic computer skills needed
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures
- Capable of data entry
