Job Summary
Support Operations & Maintenance Services at a Federal Facility in Laurel, MD as a Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice. Assist Journeymen and technicians with inspecting and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy management systems; run wiring, ductwork, and mounting of equipment; place/remove equipment and apply coatings; perform minor touch-up painting; operate forklift or man lift as needed; participate in scheduled/unscheduled maintenance per government contract; follow directions to complete tasks with emphasis on learning trades and obtaining licenses. Requires reading blueprints, ability to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders up to 30 feet, and US citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain a government background investigation; high school diploma.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in building maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints
- Reliable transportation
- Able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds
- Capable of climbing ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet
- US Citizens and ability to obtain and maintain a government background investigation (HSPD-12 clearance desirable)
