Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

Conduct preventive maintenance on facility equipment and building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components. Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, valves, and lighting fixtures while responding to work orders and service requests. Perform routine inspections to identify safety hazards and operational deficiencies, utilizing CMMS to document all work performed. Assist with equipment installations, renovations, and facility improvement projects while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. Maintain inventory of tools and supplies and collaborate with facility managers, engineering personnel, and vendors. Support emergency response activities and after-hours maintenance as required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, building maintenance, or mechanical repair experience
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic devices
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and deadlines
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical school, vocational training, or military maintenance experience
  • Experience maintaining commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, manufacturing environments, distribution centers, or educational facilities
  • Knowledge of the following systems: HVAC equipment and controls, Electrical systems up to 480V, Plumbing and piping systems, Pumps and motors, Air compressors, Building automation systems (BAS/BMS), Boilers and chillers, Conveyor systems, Preventive maintenance programs, CMMS software platforms, Life safety systems
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • HVAC Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)
  • Stationary Engineer License (where applicable)
  • Electrical or Mechanical Trade Certification
