Job Summary
Repair and maintain plant equipment including electric and gas welding, hydraulics, pipe fitting, and power transmissions. Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures, then dismantle, assemble, align, and fasten machinery using hand and power tools. Construct foundations, operate lathes or milling machines, and select rigging equipment to move heavy loads. Perform required repairs and lubrication while adhering to safety standards and working within precise accuracy limits. Work all shifts with minimal supervision, capable of lifting up to 100 pounds and working at heights.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of four years as a millwright
- Must have a minimum set of hand tools as specified by the Company
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and equipment instructions
- Must be able to weld with enough proficiency to pass a Company welding test in both electrical arc and oxygen/acetylene welding
- Must be able to determine what type of rod to use on different types of steel and cast iron
- Must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of safety in the maintenance field
- Must be capable of working with a minimum of supervision
- Must be able to work all shifts
- A written test will be given as part of the company's evaluation of aptitude for the job

- Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction)
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds
- Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time
