Job Summary
Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs on machinery, execute preventative maintenance, and fabricate or assemble mechanical assemblies. Weld using a cutting torch, plasma cutter, and saws while interpreting machine diagrams and plant layouts. Recognize potential mechanical problems, plan solutions, and implement repairs to minimize downtime. Report equipment conditions affecting operations and maintain the plant fire system. Travel to other locations when needed and serve on the emergency response team if required. Work the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or GED
- 2 or more years' specialty or technical training
- 3+ years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Good communication skills
- Advanced math skills
- Forklift certification
- Ability to operate a genie boom lift
- Ability to operate a scissor lift
- Possession of a variety of personally owned industrial hand tools
- Ability to travel to other Carpenter Co. locations when needed
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure (standard and metric)
- Must be available for 2nd shift hours (2pm - 10:30pm)
