Maintenance Mechanic (2nd shift)

Job Summary
Perform installation, overhaul, and preventative maintenance on assigned plant equipment to ensure efficient operation. Analyze equipment performance, identify defects, and initiate repairs before major breakdowns occur. Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate documentation within the CMMS system. Train and mentor operators and mechanics on proper equipment care. Support equipment installation and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components, including AC and DC systems. Perform precision welding using MIG wire-feed and heliarc techniques, conduct precision cutting using plasma torch equipment, and execute sheet metal fabrication. Operate power tools such as drill presses, grinders, milling machines, and lathes safely. Collaborate with operators to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance production efficiency. This role requires a two-year technical degree in industrial mechanical maintenance with five to eight years of experience. Located in Darien, Wisconsin, the position offers a two-shift schedule with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a two-year technical degree in industrial mechanical maintenance
- Minimum of five years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic B
- Minimum of eight years of demonstrated experience in the role
- Strong knowledge of plant electrical power and control systems
- Troubleshooting and repair of plant electrical power and control systems
- Demonstrated expertise in welding
- Demonstrated expertise in fabrication
- Demonstrated expertise in machining
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Self-motivated
