Job Summary
Set up production equipment for scheduled runs and perform necessary repairs to maintain top operating order. Troubleshoot electrical and motor problems, conduct major mechanical overhauls on packaging machinery, and execute preventative maintenance tasks. Isolate operational difficulties with machine operators, read technical manuals, document changes, and make approved design modifications. Perform duties in accordance with safety procedures and GMPs, providing coverage for mechanics on other shifts as needed. Requires minimum 4 years mechanical experience in high-speed packaging environments, ability to work minimal supervision, and flexibility for shift work.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment
- Associates degree in electronic field and/or Electrical Diploma/Certificate with at least 3 years of experience OR 5+ years of proven experience in related field
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
- Must be flexible to work Shift Work (days, afternoons, nights)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes
- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures
- Must pay attention to details with a customer service attitude
- Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills
- Must be able to read and follow directions as found in technical manuals
- Must be able to document any and all changes they are involved in
- Must be able to perform major mechanical overhauls of some packaging equipment
- Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and motor problems
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a team setting
Desired Qualifications
- food industry is highly preferred
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software's an asset
