Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facility equipment, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues including PLC and VFD troubleshooting. Operate tools and machinery such as welders, lathes, and drill presses while maintaining accurate records of activities and inspections. Support new equipment installations, coordinate with vendors, and collaborate with teams to minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, and safety protocols while providing guidance to junior mechanics. Requires 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in food manufacturing, proficiency with up to 480VAC systems, and ability to lift 100 lbs occasionally. This role is part of Calbee North America's manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
- Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical (up to 480VAC), and pneumatic systems
- Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and preventive maintenance practices
- Experience with welding (MIG/TIG), fabrication tools, and basic plumbing/carpentry
- Able to read technical manuals, drawings, and electrical schematics
- Must supply own tools appropriate to the role
- Strong communication skills
- Commitment to safety and teamwork
- Ability to lift and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Work in hot, cold, or elevated environments with appropriate PPE
- Required: Safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, hair net
- As needed: Hard hat, respirator, welding helmet, fall protection gear
