Job Summary
Maintain and analyze equipment deficiencies to make necessary repairs, disassembling units to replace faulty components with hand tools. Complete mechanical repairs on processes, equipment, fixtures, and unit operations, acting as a millwright to install and verify new production equipment. Fabricate replacement parts and replace hydraulic, pneumatic, and interchangeable components like bearings, sprockets, and pumps. Perform basic pipefitting, plumbing, threading, and layout tasks. Works weekends and holidays when requested; overtime often required. Start rate $34.15 per hour during orientation, increasing to $35.95 per hour with a $1.75 shift premium on a 2x2x5x5 rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with duties commonly associated with that of a mechanic/mechanical maintenance person
- Valid Driver License
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum
- Must have full working set of essential mechanical tools

Desired Qualifications
- Technical Degree in the area of expertise from an accredited college or technical school preferred and may substitute for 1 year of experience
