Job Summary
The Master Electrician oversees, installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs complex electrical systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations. Responsibilities include leading electrical projects, diagnosing issues, mentoring electricians, and maintaining documentation. Required qualifications include a valid Master Electrician license, 10 years of installation experience, and strong knowledge of industry codes. The role demands leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to develop and implement processes for electrical work.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Master Electrician license in the applicable state or jurisdiction
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the installation of industrial electric wiring, instrumentation, VFDs, MCCs, and control valves in a shop fabrication facility
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in control wiring
- Strong Knowledge of industry codes and standards: NEC, IEC, UBC, IBC, etc.
- Strong knowledge of industry "best practices" relating to electrical power distribution systems
- Intermediate computer skills (ability to work through spreadsheets and develop documentation)
- Ability to develop processes and procedures for electrical work
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing or high-reliability facilities
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., Fiix or equivalent)
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, power distribution systems, and energy management
- Training in arc‐flash analysis and electrical safety programs
Additional Requirements
- Must have a current electrical license registered with the state and carrying a Master Electrician
- Ability to travel to all TAS sites to carry out work activities
