Job Summary
Plan and direct maintenance activities, coordinate problem resolution for equipment failures, and oversee CMMS software implementation. Manage departmental staffing, training, and performance reviews while formulating policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate regulations. Initiate maintenance projects, control expenses, and enforce safety, health, and food/feed safety procedures across the facility. Conduct regular employee appraisals and maintain accurate records to support continuous improvement and quality standards. Operate in a production environment requiring frequent climbing to heights of 125 feet, use of ladders, and occasional lifting of 50 pounds, with exposure to loud noise, chemicals, and moving mechanical parts.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in a process manufacturing facility
- In-depth knowledge in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility
- Minimum of 5 years' experience supervising others in a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer
- Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and senior level management
- Ability to maintain good attendance habits
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit
- Frequently required to climb to levels of 125 feet or more, confined, and harnessed
- Use of stairs and ladders are required
- Occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more
- Operate in an office and production environment
- Production environment exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Noise level in the production environment is usually very loud
- This position requires the use of a respirator
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree from a two-year college in a related technical field or certificate or diploma from a trade school in related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience supervising others in a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer
