Job Summary
Oversee the overall operation of the maintenance department, including daily supervision of staff, delegation of work orders, and inspection of completed projects. Manage HVAC, boiler, plumbing, electrical, and appliance service requests while providing monthly energy management recommendations. Lead the interviewing and selection of new team members, mentor existing staff, and assist in budget preparation for maintenance expenses. Identify capital improvements, obtain estimates and bids, and manage preventative maintenance programs. Requires EPA Universal Certification or HVAC certification, gas furnace experience, and a proven track record in apartment or hotel maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a hotel, apartment, hospital maintenance/engineering with 2 years supervisory experience leading a team
- Experience with gas furnaces and gas appliances
- Excellent customer service and computer skills
- Ability to create a team, mentor and train a team
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, appliances, water heaters, chillers/boilers and H.V.A.C.
- H.V.A.C. or EPA Universal Certification
- Proven track record managing a preventative maintenance program and experience with capital projects
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
