Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

Plan, organize, and manage maintenance activities, resources, and people to maximize production equipment availability under minimal supervision. Develop and administer department budgets, policies, and procedures while supervising 6-8 team members, conducting performance reviews, and providing training. Oversee preventative maintenance programs, coordinate with outside contractors and vendors, and participate in capital expenditure and safety committee meetings. Serve as Facility Sanitation Supervisor to implement Good Manufacturing Practices, prioritize cleaning tasks, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Document daily planning processes and develop job priorities with Production Managers.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
  • Management and supervisory experience or training
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of five years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk or hear and use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Ability to occasionally reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to occasionally work in high precarious places
  • Ability to occasionally travel for work/job related training and events
  • Must be able to confirm employment eligibility via E-Verify

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with PLC's and SCADA
  • Industry experience with processing and packaging equipment such as steam kettles, blenders, mixers, tablet presses, fillers, cappers, cartoners and labelers
  • Experience working with the trades
  • Understanding of machining and electrical skills
