Job Summary
Lead all maintenance and utilities functions in a high-care aseptic manufacturing setting to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of production equipment and plant utilities. Establish preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs; drive RCA for failures; manage asset reliability metrics (OEE, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, maintenance costs); coordinate with Operations and Quality to support aseptic integrity, CIP/SIP systems, and hygienic design standards. Oversee plant utilities including ammonia refrigeration, boilers/steam, cooling towers, water treatment, compressed air/nitrogen, and fire/wastewater systems; ensure licenses, permits, inspections, and certifications are maintained; ensure GMP, safety, and PSM compliance; assess technician skill gaps and develop the team; enforce accurate CMMS usage, spare parts management, and asset documentation; develop and manage maintenance budgets; participate in site leadership and be on-call nights/weekends as needed; travel up to 10%; location MN Street SunOpta plant in Alexandria, MN. Optional bilingual (Spanish) and experience with Oracle or reliability tools are noted as beneficial.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of maintenance experience (Aseptic, Dairy, Ingredients)
- 3+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Applicable Ammonia Refrigeration Certification/license (or ability to obtain within defined timeframe)
