Job Summary
Oversee fleet maintenance operations for up to 60 vehicles across locations, directing a team of technicians and lead technicians to ensure safe, compliant, and timely repairs and preventive maintenance. Plan and schedule repair work to maximize productivity, monitor shop performance, manage overtime, coach and evaluate staff, and oversee budgets, training, and performance reviews. Maintain advanced technical knowledge of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, and welding tools to diagnose and repair heavy equipment and trucks. Manage administrative tasks such as payroll records, maintenance software data entry, and budgeting; may require local travel. Conduct quality control inspections and identify opportunities for process improvements, while aligning with safety and regulatory standards and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in the transportation industry with knowledge of safe working practices (OSHA Haz Com, Lock Out Tag Out, Fire Safety)
- High school diploma or GED
- Automotive Service Excellence certifications: T2 Diesel Engine, T Master Certified; T3 Drive; T4 Brake; T5 Suspension and Steering
