Job Summary
Maintenance Manager leading TPM/CMMS/PLCs in a USDA/FDA-regulated food manufacturing site on the first shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM CT). Responsibilities include team leadership, ensuring maximum equipment, electrical, and facility efficiency; ensuring compliance with USDA and FDA manufacturing requirements; budgeting; planning comprehensive preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement projects; evaluating equipment/process enhancements; directing project management for equipment upgrades and capital projects; managing outside vendors; driving cost reductions and uptime improvements; and developing the maintenance team through training and development.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science in Maintenance Engineering or a related major, with a minimum of 5 years of maintenance management/engineering experience, preferably within food manufacturing
- Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems
- Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Experience with high-speed packaging machinery
- Downtime analysis
- Process start-ups and breakdown management
- Budgeting, cost/benefit analysis, and project justification/development
- Vendor selection and supervision of outside workers
- Preferred knowledge of refrigeration systems and operations in a USDA or FDA regulated environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, PC proficiency, organizational, and team facilitation skills
- Strategic thinking: ability to make decisions based on information, analysis, experience, and sound judgment
- Adaptability: ability to adapt leadership style and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Collaboration: ability to collaborate with others to achieve goals and resolve issues
