Job Summary
Manage all day-to-day maintenance aspects of the fixed route bus operation, ensuring contractual requirements are met through daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting. Direct a team of 10+ employees while tracking parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers to control the maintenance budget. Prioritize and implement work schedules, projects, and assignments for 50+ buses, overseeing financial and accounting aspects of the fleet. Maintain technical competence with light/medium/heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance schedules, including audits and PMs for Diesel, CNG, and alternative fuel fleets.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three or more years of recent (within the past five years) direct successful experience in a Maintenance/Assistant General Manager capacity managing a fixed-cost transit property/operation with an alternative fuel fleet
- Experience managing/ directing 10 plus employees (fleet Technicians/Service Workers/Cleaners)
- Experience working with 50 + buses within the last year
- Ability to manage and interface with the client
- Ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers
- Ability to properly prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments
- Ability to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats
- Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook
- Technical competence with light/medium/heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance
- ASE or manufacturer's certifications
- Technical experience with fixed route transit bus maintenance
- Solid knowledge of managing audits and PM schedules
- Experience with Diesel, CNG, and Alternative fuels
- CDL class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement
- Must be able to properly manage a budget for maintenance program
