Job Summary
Conduct safe and proper maintenance and repair of production equipment by overseeing all aspects of the maintenance department, including managing personnel and spearheading maintenance projects. Maintain and update the preventative maintenance schedule, identify and execute maintenance projects with the team, and report non-conformances for correction. Issue purchase order requests, evaluate staff for training needs, and plan repair and installation activities while managing contractor relationships. Monitor inventory for critical spare parts, re-order as necessary, and keep detailed maintenance logs. Troubleshoot electrical issues in the absence of schematics and apply electromechanical machine adjustments to identify problems causing downtime.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Maintenance Management experience
- Bachelor's degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or similar field
- At least 5 years of experience (with Bachelor's degree)
- Successful completion of a vocational school or an associates degree in similar fields
- 7 years of experience (with vocational school or associates degree)
- 10 years of experience in maintenance as a technician or mechanic
- Knowledge of and experience with electromechanical machine adjustments
- Experience with motor speeds
- Experience with feed rates
- Identification of machine problems resulting in downtime
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues in the absence of schematics or electrical drawings
- Fabrication Skills
- General welding & brazing skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematics, blue prints and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
