Job Summary
Manage the maintenance department responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing production equipment in a high-volume processing facility. Develop and administer policies for purchasing, training, scheduling, preventive maintenance, and budget controls while supervising employees on hiring, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution. Procure outside technicians and contractors to supplement in-house mechanics, coordinate maintenance activities with other functions, and assist in daily equipment start-ups to minimize downtime. Respond to after-hours emergency repair calls and maintain safe, sanitary working conditions compliant with regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years Maintenance Management in a high volume processing or manufacturing facility
- preference for meat industry or other governmental regulated industry such as food, drug or cosmetics
- Ability to clearly communicate instructions to subordinates and status reports and equipment recommendations to members of management
- Associates Degree in mechanically related field
