Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

Supervise maintenance team members by scheduling, completing performance reviews, issuing corrective actions, and approving timecards while verifying maintenance recordings. Monitor equipment condition using CMMS software to schedule preventive, reactive, and improvement activities, ensuring alignment with manufacturing schedules and customer requirements. Troubleshoot automation, robotics, PLC, and mechanical systems; act as the communications hub for the team and disseminate timely information regarding production, quality, and safety issues. Implement TPM principles, conduct safety audits, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement projects to maintain production efficiency. Coordinate all maintenance activities with manufacturing departments, manage material flow, and ensure a clean, organized work environment. Act as an administrator of the CMMS system and develop key performance indicators to track costs and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic experience
  • CMMS experience
  • Strong knowledge of shop equipment, tools, and work safety
  • Ability to manage time, priorities and schedules for team members and self
  • Ability to motivate and influence people
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make effective decisions in an expedient manner while maintaining extremely high-quality standards
  • Ability to appropriately prioritize resources based upon need
  • Associate's degree or 2 year trade school degree
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, and/or 2 year trade school degree and equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience
  • Experience should include a minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes
  • Must be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and lab coats
  • Must be available for second or third shift, weekends, extended hours, or on occasion, holidays
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge lean manufacturing methods (e.g. Kaizen, SPC, TPM, FMEA, DMAIC, Six-Sigma)
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Solid skills and experience using Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, and/or 2 year trade school degree
