Job Summary
Oversee preventative maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles while directing a team of diesel technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and timely work. Coordinate, plan, and schedule all repair operations to monitor shop performance and control costs related to personnel, inventory, and outsourcing. Provide hands-on maintenance assistance and training to technicians, maintaining advanced knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Perform inspections of outside repairs to verify compliance with company safety procedures and federal/state regulations. Manage professional relationships with external vendors and track equipment warranties. Maintain an ongoing preventative maintenance program to identify trends in road calls and breakdowns.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- 5 or more years experience
- 3 years of leadership experience
- Commitment to creating and maintaining a safe working environment
- Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
Desired Qualifications
