Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

Prioritize and assign work to maintenance staff, mentor the team, and provide training to optimize performance. Analyze mechanical and operational problems, plan corrective actions, and create preventive maintenance schedules to ensure no disruption to production. Manage the department budget, oversee capital expenditures, and coordinate with vendors for equipment bids and installations. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment, including PLCs and drives, while ensuring facilities comply with safety regulations and SQF standards. Complete work order entries and close-outs in the maintenance system. Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience with a 433A Millwright license required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have their 433A Millwright license or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, leading the entire maintenance function
  • Must be willing and able to be involved on the floor conducting maintenance/repair work if needed
  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment problem
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to define and solve problems without assistance, dealing with many variables and limited information
  • Lifting of 60 lbs or less (frequent)
  • Lifting to 80 lbs (occasional)
  • Standing and sitting (frequent)
  • Crawling, stooping, and kneeling (occasional)
  • Reaching with arms & crouching (occasional)
  • Working and reaching overhead (occasional, could be for extended periods)
  • Movement of head and neck in sometimes odd positions depending on area of machine or activity being worked on (frequent)
  • Required to work at heights using ladders or lifts, or in confined spaces for short periods of time during equipment inspections and modifications
  • Required to use hand tools and repair machinery, grasping, fine manipulation (frequent)
  • Ability see and read effectively to interpret work instructions, work orders, read tape measure (standard and metric) and read other operational materials (frequent)
  • Infrequent travel may be required for maintaining certifications, seminars, and training sessions
  • Exposure to chemicals (inks, solvents), moving mechanical parts, extended noise, etc. may require the use of personal protective equipment; earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, etc.

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree
  • Electrical License
  • Knowledge of web handling processes
  • Knowledge of flexographic printing, and lamination and slitting processes
  • Hands on experience working with, and knowledge of electrical 3-phase wiring, installation, and repair of machinery up to at least 480 volts and electronic repair
  • Experience in electronic troubleshooting and repair of industrial and or manufacturing machinery
  • Knowledge and experience troubleshooting and evaluating PLC's and drives
  • Excellent oral and computer communication skills
