Job Summary
Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire maintenance function, including personnel, systems, procedures, and the condition of all machinery to ensure the facility operates efficiently. Duties include supervising Maintenance Personnel, developing and managing the preventative maintenance schedule, planning and communicating downtime, overseeing repairs, troubleshooting plant equipment malfunctions, identifying replacement parts, coordinating shutdowns, preparing detailed work plans, collaborating with key plant personnel, training and coaching staff, engaging external vendors for maintenance and capital projects, and enforcing safety rules in compliance with company and government requirements. The role requires strong communication, technical reading, analytical, and math skills, proficiency with computers, inventory management experience, and the ability to work in an industrial environment with physical demands.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- Five (5) or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong background and experience in preventative maintenance
- Experience in inventory management
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documents (electrical diagrams, PLC ladder diagrams, NEC, technical procedures, government regulations)
- Ability to write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information to groups of managers, customers, co-workers, and vendors
- Math skills including algebra and geometry
- Proficiency with computers and related equipment used in job duties
