Job Summary
Build and run the preventive maintenance schedule for every production machine, including Goodyear stitchers, inseamers, clicker presses, and lasting machines. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on legacy footwear machinery, while owning the critical spare parts inventory and fabricating parts when no backup exists. Maintain building systems such as compressed air, dust collection, ventilation, HVAC, and roofing. Own equipment-side regulatory compliance for machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and environmental permits. Manage outside vendors, service contracts, and parts purchases against budget. Requires ten or more years in industrial maintenance on legacy machinery, full plant access, and ability to perform ladder work, confined space entry, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Ten or more years in industrial maintenance
- Experience on legacy machinery where the manufacturer no longer supports the equipment
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Pneumatic troubleshooting
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to fabricate a part when no part is available
- Ability to run a lockout/tagout program
- Ability to hold operators to a lockout/tagout program
- Full plant access
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work on ladders and at elevated heights
- Confined space entry capability
- Exposure to the full range of plant hazards
