Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance operation at the assigned base, directing day-to-day activities, providing technical direction, ensuring training completion, and coordinating with Maintenance Control and Administration. Responsibilities include managing staffing levels, procuring materials and facilities, maintaining accurate documentation, enforcing safety rules, evaluating employee performance, and promoting effective communication and a culture of safety. The role requires FAA A&P certification, 5+ years in aviation maintenance with 3+ years in a supervisory or management capacity, hands-on experience with Beechcraft BE99/BE1900 or Kingair, knowledge of FAA Part 135 operations, budgeting and inventory management, and the ability to travel for field repairs and training.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current FAA A&P certificate.
- College degree or equivalent strongly desired.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in aviation maintenance with minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Hands-on maintenance experience with Beechcraft BE99, BE1900 or comparable Kingair experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge in FAA Part 135 operation.
- Familiarity with business skills related to aircraft maintenance operations, i.e. budgeting, cost control, labor allocation, parts/inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft business suite, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of pre-employment required DOT drug screening and other required background checks.
- Must meet airport badging requirements, including TSA security background check.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with company insurance criteria required.
- Must be able to travel for training and to repair aircraft in the field.
