Job Summary
Lead and oversee the VNY-based maintenance team (technicians, controllers, planners, and inventory staff) to maintain the fleet (Gulfstream G-IV, Embraer 135/Legacy) to the highest safety and reliability standards for Part 135 operations; act as the DOM’s primary Deputy, manage maintenance planning and parts inventory to maximize aircraft availability; foster a culture of safety and accountability while ensuring compliance with FAA, TSA, and DOT requirements; maintain ongoing coordination with regulatory and executive leadership and handle on-call coverage for a dynamic operation.
Required Qualifications
- Airframe and Powerplant Certificate is required and must be free of suspensions
- Part 135 Expertise: Extensive experience in Part 135 maintenance operations is required
- Technical Proficiency: Proven hands-on and management experience with Gulfstream airframes (specifically G-IV series) and Embraer 135/Legacy platforms
- Management Experience: Significant experience in team leadership and AOC management within a high-tempo aviation environment
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong background in FAA interactions, including audits, conformity, and regulatory reporting
- Certification: Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License (IA preferred)
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams and report to executive leadership
- Availability: Ability to work varying hours and remain on-call as needed to support a dynamic Part 135 operation
- Compliance: Must fulfill TSA criminal background checks (CHRC) and satisfy DOT drug testing requirements
- Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States
