Job Summary
Direct and coordinate daily maintenance technician activities, assigning work orders, monitoring progress, and ensuring safe, efficient task completion. Lead hands-on troubleshooting and repair of complex processing equipment, including conveyors, evisceration lines, chillers, and rendering machinery, while diagnosing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Train and mentor technicians on troubleshooting techniques, equipment operations, and safety protocols, and assist with performance evaluations and scheduling. Enforce strict adherence to USDA, FDA, GMPs, and OSHA standards, including Lockout/Tagout and confined space procedures, while maintaining accurate CMMS records and 5S work areas. Collaborate with production supervisors to schedule downtime and prioritize emergency repairs, ensuring equipment reliability meets production goals.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs/ladders for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs safely
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and overtime
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, specifically meat or poultry processing
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems
