Job Summary
The Maintenance Lead oversees a maintenance team responsible for repair and upkeep of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and building systems. Responsibilities include supervising team members, planning training/orientation for new staff, evaluating equipment and facilities for maintenance needs, coordinating with the maintenance supervisor on work priorities and resources, delegating tasks based on team members' skills, ensuring safe and timely completion of work, inspecting completed work, tracking time and materials for inventory, and contributing to safety meetings. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership in a multi-discipline maintenance environment within George’s chicken-production operations, with a focus on quality, safety, and operational reliability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 6+ years of experience in machine maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, carpentry, electrical, heating, and cooling systems, plumbing and/or electrical
- Basic welding experience
- Able to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Have or obtain tools needed to perform the above tasks
- Valid Driver’s License
