Job Summary
Lead maintenance operations in a Skilled Nursing Facility: oversee preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems; supervise maintenance staff, coordinate room turnovers and contractor activities; respond to on-call emergencies including weekends and holidays; ensure life-safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, NYS DOH, CMS); monitor building systems, manage inventory and supplies, and maintain grounds and common areas; communicate professionally with residents, staff, and vendors; support snow removal and extended-hour coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or High School Equivalent, required.
- 2+ years’ experience in maintenance/engineering, healthcare experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification a huge plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to lead preventive maintenance, repairs, and contractor coordination.
- Experience in SNF, nursing home, hospital, or healthcare facility maintenance preferred.
