Maintenance Lead - 3rd Shift

Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment including packaging machines, pneumatic, hydraulic, and refrigeration systems. Perform emergency unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance while reading equipment manuals, interpreting work orders, and executing preventive maintenance on plant facilities. Diagnose faulty operations, replace parts, and conduct plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical tasks using hand and power tools. Lead the Maintenance team to drive productivity and efficiencies, organize daily tasks, and assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures. Report defective material and unusual situations to supervision while adhering to safety regulations and food safety protocols. Perform on-call responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship
- Equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
- AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
- 4+ years of manufacturing experience
- Strong hydraulic skills
- Strong pneumatic skills
- Strong mechanical skills
- Strong industrial skills
- Some ammonia / refrigeration experience
- Some HVAC experience
- Ability to lift to 40 lbs
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling capability
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling capability
- Frequent fine finger dexterity
- 20% or more sitting capability
- 70% or more walking capability
- 70% or more standing capability
- Unrestricted visual abilities
- Unrestricted audio abilities
- Understanding and execution of Mercer Food's food safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Accountability to Mercer Foods food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies
- Communication of food safety incidents, observations, or opportunities to leadership team or teammates
- Ability to serve as backup to Maintenance Supervisor
- Understanding and execution of Thrive Freeze Dry's food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures
- Accountability to Thrive Freeze Dry's food safety, quality, and sanitation guidelines and policies
- Communication of food safety or quality incidents, observations, or opportunities to leadership team or teammates
- Adherence to Product Safety and Quality standards
- Adherence to GMP's regarding food contact packaging
- Adherence to Thrive's food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives
- Compliance with all SQF system requirements
- Must have strong electrical troubleshooting skills up to 480V
