Job Summary
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues on production equipment, including injection molding machines, robotics, and automated paint line systems. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities to minimize downtime while reading schematics and utilizing CMMS to document work orders. Support production teams during equipment startups, changeovers, and process troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and 5S principles. Participate in on-call, weekend, and emergency maintenance as required. This role supports manufacturing operations at International Automotive Components (IAC) in Alma, Michigan, producing automotive interior plastic components.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a U.S. Department of Labor recognized Journeyman program in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Mechatronics, Millwright, Machine Repair, or a related skilled trade.
- Journeyman Card required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics.
- Strong understanding of pneumatics.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Computer proficiency and ability to use maintenance management software.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more with assistance.
- Ability to work at heights and operate lifts when required.
- Ability to perform work in manufacturing environments with exposure to noise, heat, moving machinery, and industrial chemicals while utilizing required PPE.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Experience troubleshooting injection molding equipment and supporting systems.
- Experience with robotics and automated production systems.
- Experience with servo systems, VFDs, and industrial networking.
- Forklift, aerial lift, or crane operation certification.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience supporting automated paint operations.
