Job Summary
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the active machine shop floor, common areas, breakrooms, and restrooms. Promptly clean large industrial spills, including oils, lubricants, and coolants, while sweeping, mopping, and using floor scrubbers to remove metal shavings and debris. Empty industrial trash and scrap bins, and strictly follow shop safety rules by wearing required PPE such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and gloves. Utilize bilingual English and Spanish skills to assist team members and communicate safety instructions. Handle physical labor involving lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for full shifts in a heavy manufacturing environment. Work the first shift schedule including Tuesday through Saturday mornings.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (ability to communicate effectively with team members in both languages)
- Must be available for the required schedule, including Saturday mornings
- Ability to handle physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for the duration of the shift
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery, industrial fluids (oil/coolant), and active shop floors
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning, janitorial work, commercial cleaning, or working within a machine shop/manufacturing environment
