Job Summary
Perform a variety of skilled duties in building trades including painting, carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing, drywall, and HVAC maintenance to repair, remodel, and maintain owned and leased facilities. Execute these tasks while adhering to all safety standards, established work practices, and physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders. Maintain records and drive a motor vehicle as needed. Work full-time hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm under the direction of the Director of Facilities at 490 Edgewood Ave. in Jacksonville.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- Florida driver's license
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills that allow the incumbent to work effectively with co-workers and vendors
- Ability to adhere to all safety standards and established work practices
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, pull, stretch, sit, stand, climb, and walk
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle
- Ability to maintain records
- Sensitivity to service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
